Does Leadership & Management Wales provide training?

LMW does not provide training. We provide information, advice and sign-posting on all aspects of leadership and management development.

How can I obtain further information regarding funding?

Full details can be found on the Enhancing Leadership and Management Skills (ELMS) funding section. If you have any further questions about funding, or if you wish to find out if you are eligible for funding for a particular course, please contact the Business Skills hotline on 0845 6066160.

What are the NOS standards?

The National Occupational Standards (NOS) for management and leadership are set by the Management Standards Council; the Government recognised standards setting body for the management and leadership areas. They are statements of best practice which outline the performance criteria, related skills, knowledge and understanding required to effectively carry out various management and leadership functions.

How can I find out when the training for coaching and mentoring skills programme will be launched?

Welsh Government is in the process of issuing tender documents for the supply of this provision and it is hoped that the pilot programme will be launched in the next couple of months. LMW is collating a list of businesses which have expressed an interest, and we will provide updates when we have more news on the programme. How often are events added to the website?

LMW’s event page is reviewed weekly and new events are added to the website as soon as they are scheduled. Our website listings include events organised and run by LMW (Bring your Brain to Breakfast, The Challenge and LMW Extra) and also External Events run by other organisations that have a leadership and management theme. This listing is by no means exhaustive and if you know of an event that we have missed or you would like us to display one of your events, please email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Once the event is verified as a leadership and management development event it will be uploaded under the external events section.

How can I receive information about LMW’s events if I cannot attend?

Please email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to request further information. For most events delegate packs are handed out which contain speaker biographies and case studies which can be sent to you if you are unable to attend an event. In the near future LMW plans to offer video footage from some events which will be available via our website.
You can also sign up to the monthly LMW eNewsletter which provides the latest news on leadership and management development from around Wales and beyond, including events, research, reports and funding information.

Does LMW charge for events?

Events run by LMW are free of charge. This includes the Bring your Brain to Breakfast series, The Challenge and all partner events that are listed within LMW. There may be occasions where LMW sponsors an event and a fee is charged, for instance a fee is charged for the annual Lead On Conference.
LMW also lists a variety of external events run by other organisations that have a leadership and management theme that we think may be of interest to you. Some of these events may have charges and it is your responsibility to establish this at the time of booking with the external party.

LMW are continually seeking reciprocal relationships with other organisations who focus upon leadership and management development. How can I search for networking opportunities in Wales?

LMW has developed a unique Network Locator Tool which you can use to search for networks that suit your requirements throughout Wales via postcode, networking formats, features and so on. The tool also enables you to add networks that are currently not listed on the page.
