Businesses in Wales can receive a range of funding to support leadership and management development under the Enhancing Leadership and Management Skills (ELMS) programme.

ELMS is part-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) through the Welsh Government’s Department for Education and Skills (DfES). The purpose of the project is to support growth in the Welsh economy by enhancing the leadership and management skills of the Welsh workforce.

ELMS funding is available in the form of:

• Leadership and management development workshops – leadership and management training workshops, based on the National Occupational Standards in leadership and management. The programme is delivered by 12 contracted training providers managed by the Welsh Government
• Workforce development programme discretionary funding
• Workforce development programme direct application – for businesses with nine or fewer employees or businesses that already have Investors in People recognition
• Training for coaching and mentoring skills – a pilot programme to be launched
• Sector Leadership Fund - available for Sector Skills Councils to develop leadership and management in sector-specific businesses. The fund is now closed, but click here to see if your SSC has made a successful application
